Isaac Hall will open in honor of Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul

Thousands will be visiting the Tomb of the Patriarchs in honor of Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul

3.8.15, 15:26
According to tradition, the Month of Elul is the month of mercy and forgiveness. It begins with pilgrimages to the tombs of the righteous and saintly. At the Tomb of Machpela, (Ma'arat HaMachpela) our most well-known and prominent sages of all are buried -- the matriarchs and patriarchs of our nation. The day preceding the first day of Elul is called “Hilulat Avot” [the celebration commemorating the patriarchs], and prayers recited on that day at Ma'arat HaMachpela have special value. Chartered buses will be leaving from various places in Israel, mainly from Jerusalem.

The Isaac Hall will be open on Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul, the 28th of Av, August 13, 2015. The Isaac Hall is the largest in the Tomb of Machpela complex and open fully to Jews only 10 times a year.
