Erez Shmuel Saidoff

Erez was born to Batya and Shukor on January 29, 1971 in Jerusalem. During his first years of study, Erez spent time at the state-religious elementary school in Tzur Hadassah and at the Nes Harim elementary school in the Judean Mountains, where he also attended middle school. Erez continued his high school studies at the Beit Shlomo school in Rehovot majoring in mechanics and machinery.
In July 1990 Erez enlisted in the IDF as part of the Hesder program which combined yeshiva studies with army service. He studied at the Yamit yeshiva in the Katif region.
On Sunday, May 28, 1993, Erez was attacked and killed by terrorists while on his way to the Cave of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs where he used to pray every day. He is survived by a father and nine brothers and sisters: Yigal, Yechiel, Batsheva, Dina, Etty, Sarah, Yonatan, Rachel and Anat.
His family and the Nir Hesder Yeshiva in Kiryat Arba perpetuated his memory by dedicating a Torah scroll at the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs and naming a youth club after him.
